Over mij

Sinds 2009 werk ik als orthopedisch chirurg bij Zuyderland. Na mijn studie Geneeskunde in Maastricht heb ik mij gespecialiseerd in de behandeling van klachten aan knie en schouder, met speciale aandacht voor sporters. Daarnaast ben ik betrokken bij de medische begeleiding van verschillende topsportclubs in de regio.

In mijn werk staat de patiënt altijd centraal. Ik vind het belangrijk om goed te luisteren en samen te kijken naar een behandeling die past bij iemands situatie en doelen. Of het nu gaat om sporten, werken of dagelijkse activiteiten: mijn grootste motivatie is om mensen te helpen weer te doen wat voor hen belangrijk is.

Ik krijg energie van gemotiveerde patiënten en collega’s en van samenwerken met fysiotherapeuten en andere zorgverleners. Die samenwerking zorgt ervoor dat we de best mogelijke zorg kunnen bieden.

Naast de zorg voor mijn patiënten begeleid ik artsen in opleiding en draag ik bij aan wetenschappelijk onderzoek. Zuyderland spreekt mij aan vanwege de combinatie van hoogwaardige zorg, betrokken collega’s en de sterke verbondenheid met de regio.

Buiten mijn werk ben ik vooral vader van Isa en Kas. Ik trek er graag op uit met mijn mountainbike en bezoek regelmatig concerten en festivals. Die afwisseling geeft mij energie en helpt mij om met plezier en aandacht voor mijn patiënten klaar te staan.
